On one of Eger's oldest streets, directly at the foot of the castle and surrounded by the city's most exciting downtown restaurants and sights, we created our self-catering accommodation with 3 apartments for up to 10 guests — named after the most cherished "character" of the city and our winery: the Várvédő.
We offer our guests multiple wine tasting options — to enjoy in the intimate quiet of your apartment, in our garden for group bookings, or at one of our three external tasting venues.
Every guest is welcomed with a bottle of fine Eger wine upon arrival, so you can immediately taste the flavours of the wine region — and at departure, you receive a one-time 10% discount at our cellars.

TÓTH FERENC WINERY
A family winery, four decades on
We are a family winery. Thanks to 40 years of dedicated work, we now farm a stunning 25-hectare estate and age our wines in a unique five-armed cellar system.
Our community mission is to perfect Egri Bikavér and Egri Csillag, while our personal goal is to introduce wine lovers to the Leányka, Kadarka, and Kékfrankos varieties with the recognition they deserve. Through our flagship wine, the Várvédő, we showcase the finest face of our winery and vineyards.

A day in the city
Dobó István Street is one of Eger's oldest pedestrian streets — the castle, the minaret, and the main square are all a 5-minute walk away.
